December Art Making

By Jared Summer
This is a menorah. I started making the menorah in the third to the last session in Afternoon Art. I made the menorah with a few different materials. One of the materials I used was cardboard. Another material I used was gold paint. The third material I used was a colored popsicle stick.  Then I glued the popsicle sticks to the cardboard. Finally I made flames. Some I cut and some I left regular. I really think other people should try this, when you make artwork it is always one of a kind.

Attitude of Gratitude

Give a Gift of Thanks

Thanksgiving is the day to give THANKS and a great way to give thanks is with a handmade gift. For example, you can create a bean mosiac, turkey centerpiece or thumb-print turkey. So give a gift they will feel really “THANKFUL” for.  There are many ways to say thank you for the hard work your family does. All you need to do is start with these simple activities. “HAPPY THANKSGIVING!”

Each year we construct a giant sculpture inside the Art Room,
every student makes a small piece of its exterior.

Some of our favorite sculpture-building materials are carpet tubes,
chicken wire, packaging paper and air pillows.

This year, we're creating a LEOPARD ... a very PATIENT and PERSISTENT animal.
