Have You Seen Plasticine?

How does he do it?

3rd

grader

Josh

explains,

"My process was:

1. I got plasticine and a book.

2. I got the ideas.

3 a.) I positioned the clay.

b.) I took a picture.

4. I repeated step 3 over and over."

Here's another fantastic animation:

Josh recommends visiting http://video.klutz.com/animation/.

Plasticine is a non-drying clay, often used in clay animation. Animator Nick Park used characters modeled in Plasticine in his Oscar-winning short films about Wallace & Gromit.

"We can do things that we never could before. Stop-motion lets you build tiny little worlds, and computers make that world even more believable."
- Nick Park

    Josh,
I have an idea for one of your videos. I think that you should make the Blob and his family vampires and the sunglass case can be their coffens. Please wright back.

    Hey Josh,

I think that you should make a longer film about the red blob and his family going on a adventure.

  16. Oh, it's great to see all of these comments -- we learn so much from one another as artists, and always get better through feedback (and practice!). I will be publishing a new post shortly, but you may continue these conversations about plasticine by clicking the link to this page under the "BLOG ARCHIVE" sidebar.

Also, let me know if YOU would like to "Host a Post" and share with the school community something you've learned or created.
